Back Into the Swing of Things

7 Mar

So it’s just me and the kids again this week. We’ve been fortunate to have Jason home with us for 6 weeks, while they worked on their project from here. Now it looks like he may be jumping back into the frequent flyer club. After 12 trips up there, from May-December, I have found myself getting a little more comfortable with holding down the fort on my own. At first, I was heading to Tyler, to hang out at my parent’s house, for a week or more at a time. Now that this is all kinda familiar, I’m staying at home, taking the kids to playgroup, hosting Bible study, and keeping things running as usual. Yeah, we eat a lot of left overs and more frozen dinners and fast food than I care to admit, because the chef is out, but we are even getting better about that too. I made a meal plan for this week, so I won’t get discouraged and unmotivated to cook.

Hopefully that’ll help keep me on the right track with my focus word for this month too, Health. As I may have mentioned, or not because I’ve kinda been a slacker blogger lately, my New Year’s Resolution for the year was simply one word. Focus. I have a lot of areas of my life that need improving, but I think to succeed at any of them and not get burnt out and fed up with it all by mid February, I have to focus on them one at a time. So after thinking about the changes I wanted to make, and grouping similar ones together, I came up with 6 words to be my focus for the year. One word per month, twice a year. So although I intend to attempt everything on the list, the focus word of the month is my fall back plan. Failing all else, I WILL FOCUS on this one thing. It’s worked for the most part and I’m excited that this month’s word is health, because with 2 weeks of winter storms and 2 weeks of flu all around, I’m ready to get back into the swing of things.

So far in this journey I’ve had:
January:Education – spending more time making and following lesson plans for the kids, kinda home pre-k if you will. Plus, learning some new things myself! I did pretty well with the pre-k thing and developed a system for putting my plans together quickly that allowed flexibility during the week. I also took the belly dance class I’ve wanted to take for a while, which was a lot of fun!
February:Productivity – the idea was to get into the habit of doing my FLYlady routines around the house, and generally declutter some things. I jumped right on board with de-cluttering and spent the first 2 weeks going through baby clothes and toys and listing them on craigslist (I’ve made over $200 so far!) My one track mind was so focused on that, though, that I didn’t do any cleaning to speak of, which was the whole point really. I kinda felt like I failed the mission on that word and got into a major funk about it and didn’t feel motivated to do anything. Which is why I’m so glad it’s finally MARCH! The warmer weather, the spring flowers popping up, and a fresh start on everything is making a huge difference. I’m actually better with my cleaning this month than I was last month when it was supposed to be the focus.

I think for April I may go with Devotion. I really want to start doing a pre-school aged Bible study with the kids, get better about praying at every meal and throughout the day with them, and doing the same for myself. I want to dig into His word and grow in our fellowship with the family of our new church we’ve just joined. Being that Easter falls in there some where too, that’s probably a good motivator  to stay on track too. ;)   That would leave Discipline (focusing on using love and logic tactics with the kids and getting penny into obedience class finally) and Companionship (date nights, shared hobbies, weekday mornings together as a family, dates with the kids, etc) for May and June before I start all over again.

This post is kinda all over the board I know, but it’s where I am now, and where I plan to be. I’m excited that I’m back in the swing of things in so many areas right now… home maker, home school teacher, athlete (just ran a solid mile, this week, for the first time since my high school knee injury!!!), wife, bargin grocery shopper, and most importantly, child of God.

And now for a few parting pictures!

Jonah and his friend, Lincoln, on the tire swing.
I finally found a bedding set for Jonah’s room that I liked!
“Riding” the elephant at the Dallas Zoo
Carly feeding the giraffe was pretty cool.
A fun but LONG day (for Carly) at the zoo.

And because I am making a lot of scrapbook pages these days, here’s a few others I’ve made since my last post! Enjoy!

ABCs of Me

17 Jan

I new challenge popped up on the Scrapbook Challenges website, that really got me thinking. It’s going to be a 26 week challenge of scrapping the ABCs of me. I don’t scrap about myself very much, so it’s probably a good exercise. This way, when my kids are older, they’ll be able to know a little bit about what I was like as a person, instead of just their view of me as their Mommy.

This week’s word prompt was attitude. I certainly have some of that sometime, and poor Jason probably sees the worst of it. I feel bad about that, but I can’t seem to hold it in around him. He lets me be myself and I know don’t have to play “nice and friendly” for him to like me. So maybe it’s a compliment, that he’s really the only person I’m 100% open with.

This is my page for the letter B. I was going to go with “Busy”, because I am that… but with so many letters left in the alphabet, I thought I’d go with something a little more specific about myself. I can talk about hobbies, errands, playgroups, and projects some other time on some other letter.

For the letter C I decided to make a page of confessions to my kids. I started off with some silly ones that I don’t mind sharing with everyone, but the really juicy ones in the middle are for their eyes only… so that they will one day know that I’m not just being mean and that I don’t understand because I have been there done that, and I already know how it turns out! I know they still have to make their own mistakes, but I will still be there to help them through it because I love them!

When they gave us the challenge word “Diet” for the letter D, I wasn’t sure how I wanted to document that, but the next week they didn’t give us a word to do, it was just whatever E word we wanted to do, so I put them together since they will face each other in the book anyway and came up with Diet & Exercise!

For Diet, they required 3 pictures for the challenge, so I used a shot of my teeny tiny cereal bowl, my stash of 100 calorie packs, and a screen shot from the iphone of my ap that I use to journal food and exercise, called MyFitnessPal.

For Exercise there weren’t any challenge requirements, so I just kinda went with the same idea and did 3 photos… My belly dance hip scarf (because I don’t have a decent picture of me in it), our new Wii Fit, and the screen shot of the C25K (Couch to 5k) ap that I use to train for running the Warrior Dash. The tape measure butterfly is from a kit called A New Me… thought it worked well with the colors on this page.

For the letter F this week, they gave us the word Faith. That’s an easy one to do because it’s what we’ve been talking about in our ladies Bible study the last week or so. The chair is from another kit I have, called Waiting for New Moon.

I’m not much of what you’d call a girly girl, but I do occasionally get the itch to be a pretty pretty princess.

The prompt for the letter H was to use a picture of yourself doing something that makes you happy… I had already been thinking about doing a Hosting page with my letter H, so I found a picture of me being a happy hostess. :)

I still need to get Jason to take the pics of my kick for this one.

For this whole project, I’m mostly using the Feels Like Home Kit by Sarah Bennett, the Tag Sale, Feathered Nest, and The Y Chromosome kits by Raspberry Road Designs, and Splendid by Shabby Princess. The titles are made with Stop, Drop & Roll (wireframe) Alpha by Ziggle Designs.

Getting Ready for Galveston!

30 Aug

We are getting ready to go down to Galveston for the weekend. I know it’s not the most beautiful beach or anything, but it’s close, and it’s where Jason and his family has gone for as far back as they can remember. Here’s a little trip down memory lane!

Jason: About 3-4 Years Old

It was the first trip I ever took with Jason, in 2001.

Us on the ferry, headed to Crystal Beach

It also happens to be where Jason proposed to me in 2003…

My Ring :)

and where we honeymooned (at the San Luis Resort)!

From our Balcony

We took Jonah to the beach for the first time 2 years ago.

We went with our friends, Ben & Ginger that year.

Of course, we skipped last year because Carly was so small, but now that she’s the same age as he was for his first trip, we are all really looking forward to it. Before we get down to the beach though, we are going to take advantage of the free admission that Bank of America is offering to its customers at the Houston Children’s Museum and the Houston Zoo. This trip is really going to be cheap I think. The hotel rooms are all paid for by Jason’s Hilton Reward Points (from all these trips to NY he’s had to make for work) and with the attractions all basically free, we are really only going to have to pay for gas and food! Sweet!

Also, as the Labor Day Weekend approaches, I have some very exciting news (well, it’s exciting to me at least!) that will have several new people stopping by our blog. Since I’m expecting lots of visitors this weekend, I did some virtual house keeping and updated the kid’s pages and just generally tried to update our content! Hope you enjoy!

Getting in Shape

20 Feb

as some may have heard, Jason and I are registered to participate in the Warrior Dash on May 2nd. it’s a 5k obstacle course where you get good and dirty, but can call yourself a real warrior for completing it. lol a bunch of our college friends are getting together to do it so we are too… despite the fact that neither of us can even WALK a 5k yet.

so last weekend we bought a double jogging stroller on craigslist for the kids, downloaded the myfitnesspal ap on our phones and resolved to get ourselves in better shape… or at least some shape that can complete the warrior dash.

the ap we got is helping us journal our food and exercise, set goals, and see measurable results. it’s nice that we are finally getting in shape together. to keep us even more accountable, I plan to post both of our weightloss tickers here. they are supposed to update automatically whenever we weigh in.

Mysterious Ways

4 Dec

You know the saying… that God works in mysterious ways… and also “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much” NIV Luke 16:10 well I just had first hand experience with that. Back story…

My grandparent’s wanted an 8′ plastic folding table for Christmas. I found one online for $120 that even folded in half for easy transport. Come to find out, they probably would rather have it as a solid 8′ table, but it was already ordered and I couldn’t cancel it in time. Well, I opened it up in my living room to a.) make sure it was in working condition and b.) to see what an 8′ table actually looked like in our dining room because we have been wanting to get a large dining table for quite a while now. More on that later… anyway, I opened it up and discovered a manufacturing defect with the latch so the table wouldn’t sit down 100% flat… kind angled up in the middle. So I contacted the company about returning it. They were really nice and tried for a couple of days to figure out who was going to pay the $40 for shipping it back since we weren’t asking for an exchange. I felt bad that they’d spent $40 on shipping this $120 table that we no longer wanted AND was damaged.

Meanwhile… I am liking the looks of an 8′ table in our space, and Jason has just in the past 3-4 weeks received 3 performance bonuses for the projects he’s working on. All told, it was enough to set aside $2000 for dining room furniture and pay off one of our 2 remaining credit cards. After much deliberation though, I decided the responsible thing to do would be for me to give up my dreams of a big new dining table before our annual Christmas dinner party this year and we should use that $2000, we had set aside for it, to pay off the 2nd credit card and be completely out of credit card debt. A tough choice for me, but I knew it was the right thing to do… to finally pay off the last of that $6000 foundation repair we’ve carried on the cards for the last year and a half. But that left me with the question, where the heck am I going to seat these 12-16 dinner party guests when I have a round 4-seater table and a 4-seater card table?!

Answers the Lord, “You seat them at this semi-defective 8′ plastic table that the company has refunded you for but has said they don’t want to pay to ship it back and you may keep it to do with what you will. Congratulations on making the right decisions with the money I have entrusted to you, you get a free table.”

Awesome how God works things like that. I just had to share! :)

Learning New Things

27 Sep

Jonah’s vocabulary has just been exploding lately… phrases combined with subtle little sounds and gestures that just leave us in stitches… like frumpling up his eyebrows, smooching out his lips, shaking his head no and say “umm, I don’t really need to go night night right now” or the little lip smack and sigh followed by an exasperated little “you know that!” cause obviously… I should know these things. Everything is “I love” right now too. “I love our furniture”… “Oh I really love grapes.”  “I love my bed (talking about our bed)… it’s all comfurbal.”

That’s the other thing he’s been working on trying to figure out… what comfortable means. He had a flap book out that has touch and feel parts on it, like this padded angel. He was poking it and say “oh, it’s all comfurbal” So I try to tell him that comfortable is something that feels nice to sit or lay down on… so then he sits on the brick fireplace hearth “It’s all comfurbal?” hehe not so much kid, but you’ll get it eventually.

I have a video that I’ll have to load up from tonight too… his first attempts at trying to tell us about a song he sang in Sunday School today. Our church just did “Promotion Sunday” (where the kids all move up to the next level class) a month or two ago. He’s no longer in the “baby hall” where all they do is play for 2 hours. His new Sunday School class actually has tables and chairs, they do art projects, sing songs, learn Bible studies and all that. In fact, if I can remember to, I’ve been intending to scan his first Sunday School art projects and post them here. Ironically, they learned about the story of Jonah and the whale. hehe Anyway, he’s been telling us for weeks now about “sing songs, and guitars” after church… so that’s how we know they have a music time… but tonight he was going around smacking his fist on his hand saying “Stand on rock” and then with prompting we asked him what else he sang about and he said “Fall down” and he wiggled his way to a squat and popped back up. So my video clip is of him doing the 2 of those together plus doing random flips all over the place. He was WOUND UP tonight. He actually worked up a sweat before bed! haha

Carly’s learning new things too, she’s rolling all over the place, and sometimes it looks like she’s actually rolling with a purpose. We’re sitting up now from time to time… not right after eating or bad things will happen, and not when she’s tired cause she’ll stiffen her legs and fall over… but if she’s happy, and especially if she’s busy watching brother… she can sit up for as much as a minute at a time without support from me. She’s also started “talking” to Jonah. They both take turns shrieking as loud and as high pitched as they can, giggling in between. Worse than a couple of parakeets I tell ya! Oye! It’s cute though.

Hard to believe she’s already 5 months old! We started her on her first “baby food” last night… mashed up avocado and milk. With the price of pre-packaged baby foods these days, I’m thinking I’m going to try making the majority of her baby food meals myself. The avocado thing is what most moms, who make their own baby food, start with… that and mashed up bananas, because they both have a lot of good vitamins, healthy fat content for brain development and such. She seemed to like it last night, so tonight I gave her a little larger serving size (about 3 tsp + milk) and that seemed to be just about right. She was getting a little tired of it right near the end, but did end up eating it all. Now if I could just get her to take the dang bottle! She just chews it and plays with it… not really drinking anything. :-\ Oh well. I’m learning to cope with it. So I guess we’re ALL learning new things!

Good news also to share, Jason got a promotion this week! We’re on such an ancient cell phone plan (one they don’t even offer anymore cause it’s TX calling only, no mobile to mobile, no family talk, no free texts… nada) so we’re both excited about getting iphones in a month or two (after we save up for the phones themselves, the pay raise increase will pay the extra monthly service charges.) We don’t generally blow pay increases so “frivolously” but we have both been wanting to upgrade for a very long time, our phones are both having some battery life issues recently, and on so many occasions, we’ll be talking and Jason will ask me something and I say “I don’t know, let me get out my iphone so I can tell you” hehe. So this was actually a planned budget move… planned for whenever the next pay increase came. :) There’s also talk of a possible performance bonus coming that’ll get us the savings for the phone sooner… and maybe a decent Christmas tree since I “blew” all the money I made, painting Audrey’s kitchen, on Christmas gifts, a clearanced patio furniture set, and a portable outdoor fire pit, instead of buying myself the new tree I’ve wanted for 3-4 years now. We’ll see though. I’m just thankful that Jason’s finally getting some recognition for all the hard work he’s been putting in.

New Baby – New Project

28 Apr

With the addition of our little girl, Carly Michelle, to our family I have added a new blogging outlet for myself! I attempted to start this photography project, called the 365 Challenge, with Jonah at one point, but always wished I had started at his birth and used it to document his 1st year in our life. I kind of failed at keeping up with it, but I’m wanting to try again now that I have a new little life to document as well! The idea is that I take at least one photo every day and post it on this blog. I’m sure I’ll get behind on ocassion and I’ll forget entirely on ocassion, but you’ll forgive me! I know you will! Here’s where you’ll find the 365 blog… http://365pacesfromhere.wordpress.com Enjoy!

A Baby Sprinkle

12 Jan

I have a good friend, here in our area, that has been dying to throw me a shower for this baby girl. Having just had a baby shower (or 3) just a couple of years ago, there aren’t a WHOLE lot of things that we really need. Being that this is a girl, obviously, we’ll want to infuse a little more pink into things around here, so I agreed to let her play host to a “baby sprinkle” (hehe, a term my pea friend Kelly told me about using for 2nd baby showers!)

My delima is that some people might think it rude for me to put them on a baby shower invite list again, cause some people think you’re only allowed to have one baby shower. So to avoid any weird feelings, and un-due pressure on my friends and family to feel obligated to attend a shower they don’t want to, I’m taking myself out of the loop all together. If you are interested in going to a baby shower in honor of this new little girly addition to our family, please email my friend Crystal at crysrae23@yahoo.com . She will be planning the shower soon and will send out the invites to those who’ve contacted her. I don’t want to know who asked to be invited and who didn’t. It just doesn’t matter to me because I love all of my friends and I’m not the least bit offended if you don’t want to come! I totally understand! I personally think it’ll be fun to show up and not know who might or might not be there.

Questions I generally hear around baby shower time -

Where are you registered?
I registered at Wal-Mart, Target, and Babies R’ Us. I also have a few things from Ikea that I was interested in, but they don’t have a registry option yet. So if you’re interested in seeing that stuff, take a look at our Wishlist.com Registry. That registry includes things from all 3 of the other registries and a few things as general ideas (like what size I expect she’ll be wearing during what season).

The Bedding With Our Proposed Paint Colors

The Bedding With Our Proposed Paint Colors

What theme and colors are the nursery?
We bought the “L is for Ladybug” 4pc crib set from Wal-mart.com and the paint colors are also from Wal-mart… “Azalea” (a dark hot pink), “Pretty Petunia” (a medium pink), and a white are our wall colors. “China Aster” (a pastel pink) and “Aloe” (a light green) are 2 other paint colors that are in the bedding besides the red and black ladybugs.  We are using red as our main accessory accent color in the room because the walls are pink, there is white nursery furniture, and we have a black leather recliner and black velvet black-out drapes in there already. There are a few accessory pieces, like the window valance and extra crib sheets, that go with the set on our Wal-mart registry, but unfortunately I think they’re all “online only” or “in limited stores”.

What kind of diapers and wipes do you like?
Huggies is our favorite brand for both. I like both kinds of diapers that Huggies makes (“Snug and Dry” and “Natural Fit”)  but the Snug and Dry are usually the ones we get because they tend to be less expensive. I like all the different scents of the Huggies wipes too. We don’t need anymore of the wipes boxes though, the bags of refills will do just fine.

What is the one “big” thing on your registry that you hope to get?
Being that this is our second baby, we have most of the “big” stuff already. I also tend to try and find good deals by buying some stuff used, on craigslist, consignment sales, or whatever. So I guess if I had to say, it’d be a toss up between the Rainforest Healthy Care Booster Seat and/or the Infant to Toddler Rocker, both by Fisher Price. Neither of them are really “big” items, but that’s about as big as it gets this time around I guess. We already those two items for Jonah, but because of their longevity of use, he still uses his and will probably continue to use them for the next year or two. Obviously, they were great items for us the first time around, so we’ll definitely want them for this little girl too.

My Christmas Q&A

23 Nov

01. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
Wrapping paper wherever possible! I actually like wrapping presents. I crisp corners and fold over the edges to make them all pretty… not that anybody notices, but I feel like I’m doing a good deed by making them pretty. Besides, who’s tree are they sitting under for most of December?! Mine! So of course they have to look nice! haha

02. Real tree or Artificial?

Our Skinny Tree

Our Skinny Tree

Artificial. I like the concept of the real tree, but I like having my tree up earlier than a real one would allow, plus they make such a mess and why cut down a perfectly good, oxygen making tree, when I already have a perfectly good, non-dying tree here already? ;) I am on the look out for the perfect artificial tree though. It’s almost as hard to find one of those as it is to find the “perfect” real tree. My current one is ok, but it’s tall and skinny, and not very fluffy. I got it when we lived in an apartment, but now that I have a bigger space (and more ornaments) I’d like a bigger tree to fill it. It kinda seems empty in that corner to me.

03. When do you put up the tree?
Usually the night after Thanksgiving although with all the travel that we’re doing this year, we decided to go ahead and put it up the weekend before Thanksgiving so we could enjoy it for the 2 whole weeks we’ll be home before Christmas.

04. When do you take the tree down?
I’m assuming this is what question 4 was because it was missing when I copied the survey… but usually, we take it down the weekend after new years. This year it gets to stay up a little longer because we’re hosting a Christmas After-Party on that weekend!

05. Do you like eggnog?
Disgusting. Even with the help of booze.

06. Favorite gift received as a child?
Probably the 2 hampsters I got from Santa when I was 9 (I think?), which my Mom had previously told me NO WAY was she going to get me a “rat to let loose in this house”, and then she proceeded to grumble about needing to go kick Santa’s rear end for bringing me not one but TWO “rats”. I named them Itsy and Bitsy.

07. Hardest person to buy for?
My grandparents cause if they want/need something that they don’t already have, they just go get it.

08. Easiest person to buy for?
Jonah. I have already bought everything I intend to this year, but I can’t help but find more things that I WANT to buy for him! hehe

09. Do you have a nativity scene?
Yes.  I have a Willow Tree Nativity set that I keep hoping someone *ahem, Jason* will get the metal star backdrop for *wink wink nudge nudge*

10. Mail or email Christmas cards?

Our Christmas Card

Our Christmas Card

I try to mail them if I get around to it. If not, then nothing I guess. I try to make my own cards a lot of times, and that’s what gets me into trouble cause I run out of steam before I get them actually sent out. I skipped all that this year and I just ordered a few photo cards from snapfish, with a quick pic I took of Jonah in front of my mom’s tree, for 1¢ each, on a limited quatity special, so I think I only have enough to send to my family… so here’s a sneak peak for the rest of you. I guess this sorta counts as e-mailing them huh? Blogging them wasn’t listed as an option!

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
I can’t think of a specific one right off hand, but I know there have been a couple of times where I got something from someone, who should have known me well enough to know better, that was exactly what I DIDN’T WANT.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
Cartoon version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

13. When do you start shopping?
I like to get everything done before Thanksgiving, unless I know I’m shopping for something, like electronics, that I know I can get a really great deal on, on Black Friday. I’m pretty close to done now actually.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?

Poinsetta Towel and Pot Holder I Re-Gifted

Poinsetta Towel and Pot Holder I Re-Gifted

That’s actually the theme of the Christmas After-Party that we host. You can bring as many unwanted gifts (re-wrapped of course) as you want to the party, and then you get to draw for however many you brought. Then we do a little bit of stealing and the whole thing is a lot of fun. I actually like both of the gifts we ended up with last year… a picture frame and a cake stand. :)

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
Giant Cinnamon Rolls (we have them for breakfast on christmas morning)

16. Lights on the tree?
A tree without lights???  That’s just wrong. But if you’re asking for a numerical value, my skinny little tree has 350 lights on it (plus the star!)

17. Favorite Christmas song?
O Holy Night… it’s one of the few that I feel like I can sing relatively well, acapella, so it’s usually what I sing when I’m in the Christmas carol mood.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?
Travel. And lots of it. Christmas with my mom’s family at “the farm” the weekend before Christmas usually, then christmas morning with my parents, then Jason’s mom, then Jason’s extended family, then back to my parents’ house for a gathering with my dad’s side of the family. All of Christmas day we’re go go go, but at least it’s all in the same city.

19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer’s?
uhhh… , dasher, dancer, prancer, blitzin, comet, cupid, donner, vixin, and rudolph? maybe?

20. Angel on the tree top or a star?
Star. The angels creep me out for the same reason porcelin dolls do, they look like they’re looking at me.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?

Christmas Jammies For Jonah This Year

Christmas Jammies For Jonah This Year

We usually get to open one on Christmas Eve, and it’s always Christmas PJ’s. Everything else is the weekend before Christmas (see #18) and Christmas morning. Jonah’s getting Christmas jammies this year, but I inherited some new ones from my Mom this year (to fit my pregnant belly) and Jason will probably just wear some old ones that he has.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?
That my husband waits until the week before Christmas (sometimes just the day before) to do his shopping.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color?

The Noman Ornament Jonah Painted

The Noman Ornament Jonah Painted

I like to mix it up every year. I, like my mom, collect ornaments for several themes when they go on clearance after Christmas. This year our big tree is all silver and blue, and the little tree is going to be decorated, by our playgroup kids, with kid proof ornaments . Every few years I do a “traditional” tree with no holds barred as to what goes on it. I have a box of “special ornaments” that are handmade or were hand me downs from various parts of our family, or were ornaments I got to pick out as a kid. That was a tradition in my family, picking out an ornament that has to do with the favorite facination of the year. I’m continuing that with Jonah but I’m also thinking I may try to do an ornament craft project with the kids each year too. So this year Jonah painted a little wooden snowman, because he is ALL ABOUT the “noman” everywhere!

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner?
Vennison Enchiladas at my grandparent’s house (the weekend before Christmas) but really, I like those any time. We don’t usually have a “traditional” Christmas dinner, more of a pot luck sort of a thing with my Dad’s family.

25. What do you want for Christmas this year?
Ever since becoming a parent, I have found it’s more fun wishing for gifts for Jonah, maybe because I’m still a big kid, but I’m excited about the cool stuff he’ll get. I DO have a wishlist that I keep up with year round, though, because it’s always so hard to think of something when someone asks me on the spot. But to name a few specifically, I guess, the nativity backdrop (see #9), the Bon Voyage expansion pack for the Sims2 (so I can get my Seasons expansion pack working again… it installs just fine but the play disc is scratched), some wintery maternity clothes (sweaters/longsleeve shirts and a nice pair of jeans) and a few oddball things for cooking/hosting parties.

A New Baby Blog

3 Sep

I have created a blog just for baby so that I don’t over-run the family blog with baby talk.

A WARNING TO MY BABY BLOG READERS – This blog is my outlet for all the crazy pregnancy hormones, random thoughts, and complaing about my symptoms that I want. I’ll update the family blog with the basic details, but I can’t guarantee you won’t learn more than you wish to know by reading this blog. Consider yourself warned.
