We had a Curious George themed party in the back yard with three of his friends. The original party date got moved because Daddy’s flight back from NY got delayed and he would have missed it. It was raining that day, and one of his friends wouldn’t have been able to come anyway, so it all worked out well. The new swing set was the main gift from us to the kids this year, along with a few other small books and games. He really liked the balance bike the Nonna bought for him though!
What He Can Do -
He knows all of his colors and can write some of his upper case letters. He knows what his name looks like in all caps, can sing his ABC’s perfectly, and count 1-10. He even recognizes some big numbers like 45. He speaks in full sentences and can tell you stories about his day. He still uses “he” when talking about himself sometimes though. He can pedal his trike, potty by himself, open the baby gate in the hall, dribble a basket ball, and even hit a soft tossed ball with his baseball bat.

TV Shows: Yo Gabba Gabba, Olivia & Sports (With Daddy)
Movies: Cars & “Squirrel Movie” (Ice Age)

We had a train themed party at home with 2 of his friends and some of our family, who had come in town for Uncle Bob’s graduation. The kids really just enjoyed playing with the balloons & eating the train cake. The wooden train set Jonah got from us became an instant favorite!
What He Can Do -
He knows all of his uppercase ABCs, most numbers, colors, and shapes. He uses phrases like “I’ll get it!” and “Ice in it, please!” He can jump with two feet, “break dance”, lock and unlock the deadbolt, climb into his car seat, throw a ball well, and help with the chores like dishes. He sleeps about 11-12 hours a night and still takes a good 2-3 hour nap most days.
His Favorites -
TV Shows: Dora the Explorer & Guy’s Big Bite (Yes, on the Food Network!)
Toys: Play-doh & Trains
Activities: Color Outside (Sidewalk Chalk), Sandbox, and Art Projects

Oh! I think I figured out what he wanted. I think he was asking me to turn on the light, which I couldn’t figure out how to do. I also think his “remote” sounds a lot more like “remote” now.
